The Siamese cat is a breed that is loved by many people, including myself. My cat, named Desiree, loved to follow me around and meow to me her life story. She had plenty to say too. I have read that they are known for being intelligent and very loyal to their household, which Desiree certainly was.
This coin is from the Isle of Man, which is a 33 mile long island in the Irish Sea halfway between Northern Island and England. The island is a thriving resort center with a striking coastline of bays, beaches and rugged cliffs. They have an independent governing Parliament, but have the Queen of England on the back of their coins.
The Isle of Man has a national passion for cats, in part because of their indigenous Manx cat. The 1992 Siamese coin is the 5th in their series of "cat crowns." with a new design and breed of cat issued each year. The series was issued from 1988 through 2016, and are considered very collectible for cat enthusiasts. It is a large coin, about the same size as a US silver dollar, and makes a stunning statement piece as jewelry.
