I knew right away these were not going to be easy kittens to raise. Someone brought them to the shelter at 1 day old and they went out with a foster volunteer. The foster volunteer returned them the next day, they were too fragile and she felt she couldn't be successful.
I got a call on Day 2 to see if I would take them. Maybe it was the experience of all the kittens I have raised, or maybe it is my overactive optimism, but I didn't have to think this over at all. I wanted to take them.
One of the volunteers in the lobby whispered that they didn't think these kittens would make it. I said to myself... you wait and see people, I can do this. It is amazing how lots of love can save kittens and is the best medicine. Besides, I knew I had a wonderful veterinarian team to help me.
