My friend, Deb, and her amazing home garden
In the year 2000, Deb and her family purchased a rural property near Santa Rosa. It was almost 3 acres, and came complete with a house with a cracked foundation and a "junkyard." Yes, it had many old rusting cars sitting on the property. With very little money, a lot of love, and the help of some of their friends, the property has turned into a beautiful garden....
I visit Deb every month for an acupressure appointment. Deb has kept my menapause symptoms at bay for over 10 years now, which is not a small accomplishment. To be quite honest, I don't understand how acupressure works. The good news is I don't have to. So I faithfully return every month for "maintenance" to keep my "alter ego" away.
Each time I show up at her house, I take delight in seeing what has changed in the garden since the last visit. A lot of us admire her garden, and even a few volunteer to work in her garden just for the pure joy of it. The garden has grown and now covers about a third of her property. It is a peaceful place to sit and rest, it brings healthy vegetables to eat and enjoy, and provides a habitat for a variety of small animals and birds. A little slice of heaven, I say.
Below are some photos taken in the fall. I am eagerly awaiting next Spring to capture the lush green and many blooms. Please notice in the photos how little items are surprises in Deb's garden and give it a character of it's own. That is my favorite part of exploring her garden!
Enjoy!
Ann

Comment from Deborah Myers:
Thank you for sharing my garden with "new friends"!! As you can tell - it's a space I love to spend LOTS of time in - AND I love having folks discover the magic. So, clients have been known to bring their picnic lunches to "extend the time" of their sessions!
And, by the way, I love the magic that Ann creates with her coin jewelry. Hard to believe the beauty that comes from a basic coin when it's put in her hands.....
