Once in a while I donate one of my pendants to a good cause. I decided to donate a kitten pendant, made with a coin from Isle of Man, to the Volunteer raffle for the Sonoma Humane Society. This is an annual event where the staff thank the many volunteers for their huge contribution of time to help the dogs, cats, and rabbits that are eventually adopted.
I was very delighted that Kate won the pendant. Kate does a lot of volunteer work, and more importantly has become someone I refer to as my "bead buddy." We like to compare our projects and learn from each other.
She decided to make this beautiful Kumihimo Japanese braid to match her pendant, and it turned out wonderful. I love that she added a few silver beads near the coin to highlight the color of the coin.
Kate is a very generous soul, so I know she is the type to donate this beautiful set to a good cause. Even still, I am really hoping she decides to keep it for herself to wear and enjoy. Either way, I am very happy my pendant ended up in her hands.
