One of the challenges of fostering bottle fed baby kittens was having to have them with me 24-7. Duffy was actually a pleasure and happy to be along, no matter where I went. Is it universal that kittens and cats love empty drawers??? The office staff just loved his cuteness and everyone was happy, especially me!
Fostering underage kittens is pretty amazing, even if they are very tiny little guys. Duffy is less than 10 days old here, their eyes don't open until about that age. This video shows him trying to walk with his wobbly little legs. So cute I just had to share the beginning of our adventure together.
I have the most adorable litter of foster kittens, and they are now old enough to be adopted. The litter includes Princess, Pumpkin, Baby & Squeakers. I got them at 3 weeks old while they still needed to be bottle fed, and they are now 10 weeks old. It feel so rewarding to see these cute little kittens go on to good homes. My job is done, and I eagerly await my next adventure!
I feel so lucky to foster a litter of four healthly, sweet kittens. They are about 3 weeks old, so will be bottle fed for only a short while. This is "Pumpkin" and he is a real beauty. Pumpkin is the perfect name for the biggest kitten AND is orange AND I started fostering him in October. Oh, did I already mention he is a real beauty?
I knew right away these were not going to be easy kittens to foster. There would be some sleep lost at the beginning, but I knew it was so worth it. These two arrived at the shelter at only a day old. So tiny and so fragile!
I hate to admit it, but the smaller and fragile they are, the more I seem to love fostering them. I think I have the best volunteer job in the world.
Every kitten I foster has a "superpower," or that is my theory. Of course, sometimes that is just they are cute beyond words. I like to think Jolene's superpower is her ability to roll over on her back, with total trust I will keep her safe, and take a nap. Awww.
By the way, these cute poses come and go, and the biggest challenge for me is to have a camera nearby, and have a hand free to take the shot. I am a one person operation, so I do it all. Even still, I have been able to get these type of shots to share just how adorable and precious these little kittens are.
